Dr. Noreen Connolly O’Prey spent five years researching the Role and Impact of the School Administrator (often referred to as the School Secretary) in the City of Dublin Vocational Education Sector now known as the City of Dublin Education Training Board. She was conferred with a Professional Doctorate in Education Leadership in March 2012.
The reason for pursuing the Ed.D. Professional Doctorate came about whilst undertaking the M.Sc. in Education Management and Training where she found there was a dearth of literature available. She herself worked as a School Administrator in the Vocational Education Sector for fourteen years and found that the role had changed significantly particularly since the enactment of the 1998 Education Act. There was very little professional training and development for school administrators who as front-line staff in schools and colleges had a significant role to play that required expert knowledge and skill from both an education and administration perspective.
The aim of EASSPN is to provide a professional network service where School Administrators/School Secretaries can keep in contact with one another, share ideas and keep up to date with the most relevant thinking in their profession.
EASSPN will provide the most up-to-date thinking and research in relation to the profession from both a national and international perspective and provide very important relevant links. EASSPN is there to assist, research, provide training and consultancy in relation to any questions or information required. It will publish a monthly newsletter and continuous news on a regular basis through its blog page.

Dr. Noreen Connolly O’Prey lecturers on the QQI (FETAC) Level 5 part-time Start Your Own Business programme. She has also lectured on the QQI (FETAC) Level 5 Enterprise Studies and Entrepreneurial Skills programmes. She also provides individual mentoring to students.
Personal and Professional Development – Set New Goals for 2018/2019
EASSPN provides one to one and group services in Personal and Professional Career Development through the use of Reflection, Evaluation and SWOT analysis tools.
Dr. Noreen Connolly O’Prey has many years experience of lecturing and research in this area as well as from her own experience of professional development to the award of an Ed. D. Doctorate in Education Leadership. A Level 10 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ).
Course Design and Content
EASSPN provides consultancy on design and content in Business, Management and Leadership modules to include presentation and production of course material.
Dr. Noreen Connolly O’Prey has five years experience of working in course design and development at Post-Leaving Certificate Level at the CDETB Curriculum Development Unit.
EASSPN provides assistance and guidelines with writing a thesis at Undergraduate, Master’s and Doctorate levels. This is in terms of structure, design and research methodologies.
EASSPN also provides a word processing and proof reading service. Dr. Noreen Connolly O’Prey has herself written three theses, one at each of the above levels for her qualifications, BBS, M.Sc and Ed.D. (Professional Doctorate).
